State your actions instead of demands

No matter what your intention is, when you are talking you either choose strong words or weak ones.

Example:
Weak: “Stop being rude!” → Triggers defiance
Strong: “I’ll leave if this continues” → Forces adaptation on your terms and shows that you do not negotiate certain boundaries

Boundary Mastery
State your actions instead of demands → Defuse power struggles

  • “If you X, I’ll Y” shifts control to you without provoking defiance (e.g., “If you speak for others, I exit”).
